I would like to smack the do gooders

Children need structure and discipline, but smacking should never become the first method of choice to keep kids in line. In my opinion children need to be taught genuine values from the earliest possible age, and 'teaching' them by smacking is teaching them that you can get your own way if you are bigger than the other person and that you can exploit that superior size with violence. That makes for a very dangerous kind of education. Most of the time when I see a child being smacked it is just a way to shut them up as the parents are too busy talking or doing other essentially self-gratifying things instead of paying attention to the child.

The Goverment should get a life & the do gooders as look at the mess they have made all ready,get your own house in order befor you start tell others what to do in their house,how many kids are in out of cair now because of no cain at school or home Wake up Australia What's happen to us...........

I agree with gipsy1 and Katie8 Depending on what exactly your child has done i believe a smack can be called for. We have all been there and no harm came to us now did it.

Well, how the heck do we discipline all the unruly kids around? I think a smack is okay as long as you're not belting into them. I say to all those stiff upper lips people....GET A BLOODY LIFE! Dont interfere with peoples lives. Yes, and maybe they need to bring back the cane at schools!
