This one of those I feel good rubbish things that they the do goodies think are important just like the priests that rape little children then go out and help the poor what a load of crap lets get real and do right by the country not the high and might I’m better they the rest of you. This is the group that think they have the right to tell us what is MORAL right under their belief system and we have to agree as they are important i.e.: the Australian of the year WHAT A CROCK.

As far as I'm concerned the awards mean very little to the ordinary person in the street. I do agree with katie8 that the Morcombes deserve recognition for their work on bringing the 'stranger danger' to the fore. and yes paulio, i do find that comment offensive.

I say do we really need one we could all be it.

o.k then how about promoting looking after your kids properly . the sunshine coast is a tourist and drive through place as if you would let a 11yo go shopping by them selves. imo the parents are completly resposible for their son being taken by evil pedos and should be charged.
