Hollywood seems to have run out of ideas so are pinching ones from way back. The trend of releasing 3, 4 or more movies based on a luke warm idea and public response has surely got to stop soon. The gauge of how good a movie is is surely will people still be watching it in ten, twenty, thirty years time. I suggest the answer in most cases is no.

Some yes some no - but i can't afford to go to the movies & i'm basing my answer on the shorts i've seen.

I think the standard of movies (released in America) has fallen dramatically! The quality is deplorable and the acting is second rate. Its all about funding the highest paid celebrity (not all of them are worth the obscene money they get) and getting the money back fast by catering to the inane teen market. Movies released from Britain are usually of a higher standard. All this high-tech, 3D, computer-generated fad can NEVER replace movies of high quality with seasoned, experienced actors. I still favour the outstanding legendary movies such as Fried Green Tomatoes, Driving Miss Daisy, The Shawshank Redemption, Forest Gump, Double Jeopardy, The Dish, et al. When will they release something of quality again? We live in hope! Last good movies I watched were the Swedish trilogy of "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" ... outstanding adaptation of the books.

I think they are improving. The last couple of latest movies I saw were more like the movies of old. No foul language and gratuitous sex scenes. (No they werent kids movies)
