A couple years back i had to travel to Brisbane for work and i can tell you that the difference between using your own money vs a corporate credit card is like eating at Vue De Monde vs Mcdonalds. This analogy speaks volumes!

i have no idea, but working for a state government agency we had to account for all spending and provide receipts and justify it, must fill out expense sheets for absolutely any purchase no matter how small, and finance dept goes over everything and reports on suspicious expenses or unaccountable funds. Further up the government chain, i somehow think they get to bypass those measures

Absolutely! Whenever you give some greedy executive carte blanche use of a corporate credit card or traveller allowance using OPM (ie OTHER people's money whether it be corporate or shareholder-funded) they almost always take full advantage. Strict controls need to be undertaken and the expenditure closely monitored. I've worked in many companies and seen such abuse of company goodwill in the form of credit or travel cards over and over again. Its time business executives realise that its time to get OFF the gravy train and realise that many shareholders can't afford to support such extravagence anymore!

Not as widespread as a government credit card or cabcharge docket.
